Problem with unlocking passenger doors
Does anyone have troubleshooting tips for this recent problem I'm having. When I use the keyfobs to unlock the two rear or front passenger doors on my 2005 x type, sometimes it will unlock the doors but sometimes it will not. Its very hit or miss. I've check the battery in the key fob and its fine. Thanks

does this only happen when using the remote? in the x-type the doors should automatically unlock when the drivers or passenger door is open (only when getting out of car). If there's trouble with it unlocking even in that case most likely you could have a door lock actuator that is on its way out. and also have your battery in the car checked, some pretty random things can happen if these cars are not happy with the voltage they are getting.

similar thing happens to me sometimes. I hit the unlock button once and it unlocks the driver door but when I hit it the second time. theres a click sound but doesn't unlock any of the other doors. I have to manually unlock the doors from the inside a few times to get the key fob to start working again. very strange.

Lube your latches, people
This solved my problem easily. Just wanted to say thanks to Rudy and also describe my problem in case others have similar.
Basically the 3 passenger doors would not unlock using the key fob, or automatically when you open the driver door. The issue was the front passenger door had a very sticky latch. As I learned in another thread, the lock system goes in order from front driver, to front passenger, to rear doors. So when it got stuck on front passenger door, it would stop trying.
Once that sticky latch was lubed and worked a bit, all is fine. Did the others as well as a preventative. Silicone spray lube seems to be the recommended and that's what I used.
It pays to try simple things first! And to search the heck out of these forums.
