conbobway, do some looking inside your door panels. You don't state the year that your car is. In short, the earlier cars pretty much came standard with the lights in the doors. The later ones did not. But, in a lot of cases, the wiring may be in the door already. So, you would need to see if you have a plug going to the door panel. If you do, then all you would need is a fuse and relay to power up the lights. Otherwise, you are going to need to create your own wiring harness to run to each door and tap the power off of say an interior light that comes on when the doors open. Make sure to power this via a relay to ensure you don't overload the light circuit.

Conbobway's car is a wagon and these were marketed in the US beginning in 2005 (and in Canada beginning in 2004) - therefore as I stated in #2 above his car has no lights in the doors. It would indeed be interesting to find out if the wiring harness is in place already, but I suspect that it is not, given the electrical revision of the X-Types done in 2004.

SOV211, looking at the diagrams, I do not see any wiring for the doors listed. Granted, I still seem to think that there were the newer cars that has lights in the doors as I seem to remember a few conversations about them and how in the 2005 range that it was hit and miss as to whether you had them or not. But, maybe my memory is starting to go.

Hi
I'm really keen on installing those puddle lights on to my xtype 2006 3.0 .The battery option appeals to me the most as less fiddling is required!!
Is it at all possible to let me know when you can get them from ?
Kind regards Teddy

You can find them by searching EBay, I found some that were a translucent brown casing that was a bit better for my interior (from black). An example =
