Quote for repairs - bit steep!
Well, I got a call from the dealer with a quote for repairs to my 2009 Xtype. The cause of the coolant loss was a busted water pump - replacement cost including labour $2500 AUD.
The cause of the fuel leak was a leaky pipe running on top of the tank - replacement cost "only" $1500 AUD. Quite a repair bill I'm sure you'd agree!
To make matters worse they said it could be 8 weeks before the parts come in from England and the car will be undriveable until then......

Clack, not sure how the water pump is on the 2.1L motor, but that would be an absurd price for a 2.5/3.0L engine. The fuel issue, I can almost see as there is a fair amount of work that is needed just to access the top of the tank. Still high if you ask me, but what can you do.
As for the 8 weeks, I would ask them that if you can get the parts faster, would they install your parts. I am sure you could get the parts faster than that. Some shops will, some won't. Does not hurt to ask.

Unfortunately as to the wait for parts, with covid affecting delivery times / supply chain I can't expect anything else but a wait.....

Not sure which pipe. I'm happy to go with dealer service option - I'd rather fit new than used anyway - better reliability

If you can find out the part number I could try to make some inquiries here to see if someone happens to have a new one floating around in stock.
Just trying to see if I can somehow shorten the downtime for you.
Freight is such a b!tch at the moment and NZ to AUS would be faster and cheaper.
