Radiator Fan - only one working

I’ve read a few threads but im not exactly finding what I’m looking for. I think I’m more uncertain from all the different things I’ve read. Simply, it seems only one fan is operating and it constantly clicks on and off (left drivers side). I’ve seen the other click on but it seems intermittent. My temp gauge sits in the middle never overheating. I usually have A/C on.
Is this normal operation or should both fans be running?
I’ll read a few threads on a replacement control module, in case that’s what I need, but any advice on what to get? eBay has one for $30, Amazon for $88, Rock Auto for like $300 and the parts store for $500. Quite a range in cost. So is there a certain type that is more reliable or are they all the same just different costs?

Hello, revisiting this in hopes someone has some feedback. To add, I monitored my temp through my OBDII device for about 30min, driving in town, and it stayed around 205 degrees. Seems normal, I'm just not sure if both fans should be kicking on or if its normal for one to run more often than the other. I suppose I can surmise that my control module is working, but maybe the motor on the other fan is out. Thoughts? Thanks.

If you turn your air conditioning on to the coldest setting, fan control to max (not on auto), car warm, both fans should kick on. They have different "stepped" speeds and 1 vs both. Explained =

Hi ugotmale!
I had an loose contact with the female connector of one fan, this fan didn't run at all altough there was little contact.
The flat plug (male connector) has some kind of electrical corrosion, too, due to sparks of high fan current (about 16A).
I'd bend the female contact at the cable, and i was ok.
Cheers, catfondler
