Default Radiator flush results

So I just flushed my radiator and cooling system out after putting in the new tank. It was quite a project but I'm glad I did. Got a lot of junk out of the cooling system, ran a bunch of water through, and filled it back up with new coolant and water. Also put in some of this Bars Leak stop leak stuff, but I forgot about it and filled up the tank before I realized I didn't leave any room for it. I drained a little out and put like half the little bottle in. Not sure if it really needed it, but it sounded good. Anyways, my car has so much restored power! It really drives a lot better. The engine feels so much more solid. I feel some regained horsepower. I wasn't expecting much because I haven't worked on cooling systems much before, but wow flushing it really made a difference. Definitely not something you want to neglect. Very happy with the results and glad I'm done. it was a long process and now my stomach aches. It's really toxic stuff so be really careful not to spill any on the ground.

Good going 04xtype04,

Youve done mote than I ever have, although I want to do so much more, I wish I'd studied mechanics when I was younger, sadly I'd only probably appreciate that NOW!

Ps, when you are posting, can you space your sentences?

If you start a new line, do a new paragraph as old timers like me can read it better and you will have more responses to your interesting threads, keep it up!!

I was informed when i joined the site of MY UNREADABLE POSTS!

Stay happy, Best regards, Stu

Yea I tend to do that. I get carried away and I end up typing a page in one paragraph. Will try to break my thoughts up more in the future.

I flushed my 3.lt awd, drained all the coolant, disconnected the heater hoses and all the upper hoses, blew air thru them and got more coolant out, then flushed with tap water till all was clear, blew air thru all the hoses again, reconnected hoses and filled with distilled water. drove car for a few km. drained system again, blew air thru all hoses, reconnected and filled with premix coolant. Much better now.
