Rear Breaks, What's this part for?
Hello, just replaced breaks and rotors all around. On the rear, there is the black disc that goes on a stud which is in the bottom caliper holder (not sure if that is the correct term) bolt. I have no idea what purpose this thing servers but I just snapped the right rear one off while trying to remove it. Can anyone tell me what this thing is for and if I really should extract the broken stud and replace it. I'm guessing Jaguar didn't just have a spare two of these lying around and decided it would be good to put it on there for the fun of it.
What do these things do?
See attached pics.
Thanks in advance.

timm: It's a vibration dampener, and it's optional. Several owners say they or a prior owner removed these from their X-Types.
