Rear camera Hookup Help!!!

I have an 02 X type 3.0 with backup sensors. Can anyone help me find a place to connect my rear camera sensing wire. When I put the car in reverse it needs to be activated to turn the head unit to the rear camera video. I know there is a connection in the trunk but I don't want to run a wire all that way if I can help it. Any switches or sort near the head unit I can tap into?

If you are looking for the wire that will switch the unit "on" then I guess that would be the power wire for the reverse lights. They are in the wire harness in the trunk. The harness runs to the front of the car to the ECU. I guess you could just tap into the wire at the ECU. I think it is in the dash (not 100% on that but I will find out). as for the video source intercept, I have no idea how you would do that. Did this thing come with any sort of wire diagram or instuctions? one thing i do know is messing with the Jaguar electronics is a very scary thing. If you fry the ECU you are looking at a big $$$ fix. I am sure one of the techs can help with this issue of the right wires... can you post a picture of the wire diagram for the camera if there is one?

I have the video source already wired. the radio just needs a 12v signal to turn it to the video source. I can run it to the back but I was hoping someone knew a place closer to the radio to hook into. I was thinking there must be something on the shifter that signals the reverse lights inthe back.

Grim, what you are after is a green/blue wire that connects to the parking aid sensor control module. IT is attached to pin #9. You can tap into that and it will give you 12 VDC when you put the car in Reverse. Unfortunately, this module is located in the trunk of the car. There is another option in that you can access the review mirror inside the cab of the car and you will find the green/blue wire there. THen you can run a new wire across the roof of the car, down the A-pillar then through the dash to the radio. My diagrams don't show where inside the cab the wire bundle runs. So, maybe with a bit of looking you can find it.
Hope this helps.

The radio is equiped with a video in just for a camera. I have a 7" Radio/Nav/bluetooth/DVd type unit. It also has normal video in and out.
Thermo thanks for the heads up. I guess the easiest way is to run a wire to the trunk and hook it up that way. I have to run the video and gps cable from the trunk anyway, what's one more wire.

I got in the trunk today and found the green wire with a blue stripe next the control box. But there is a slight problem, the green/blue wireit is actually connected to the #3 pin which is across for the #9. The number nine pin is white andI didn't see a strip of any color on it. Please advise
Also do you know anything about the 12 v supply near the cd connection in the trunk. I think I found it but it has a three prong plug, need to know which two wire to use and if there is a recommended way of hooking it up, I figuredjust using spade connectors and make sure they don't touch.
