Hi all, newbie to this forum, we own a 2003 x type and live in WI. this past fall we had a freakish ice storm while out shoping, there was a 1/4 inch of ice on just the passenger side of the car, I cleaned most off front windows and as we were driving my step son thought he could clear his window of ice by lowering it, he was 12 at the time and didnt know better, anyhow if anyone here has looked at their window regulator and motor system, you'll know that it used a cabling/pulley system. Our's was mangled beyond repair. My thoughts are that this car shares a chassie with those of Ford and Mercury, the ******* wants almost $400 for a new one, is there anyone on here that knows if the window regulator assembly is interchangeable with something from Ford or Mercury? I have the window zip tied in place inside the door assembly so its inopperable at the moment. Thanks, Paul
