Rear Suspension Problems..Rubbing BAD

Ok, here's the deal. When I had the factory springs on my car and would have vertually ANYONE in back back (not overweight) it would rub when I cornered or when up an incline while turning and it would sit real low with people in the back.
After getting lowering springs it rubs the same (no more no less).
Any idea?
It's a 2003 with 25000 miles on aftermarket 18x8" wheels.
I'mwas thinkingit could be because of the wheels being flush with the side of the car. But after seeing how far the car sits down with rear passangers in it, I have kind of think it is a defective suspension part of some sort.
Anyone else have this problem? I'm wondering if I should get my Jag dealer to check it out or if it is normal.

I am looking into well many of things right now but I'm sold on some 19" foose speedster for my jag. The size is 7.5 though not 8. Something you could do is park your car say on a curb or unlevel ground and go to the lower side as the suspension is depressed and more weight is on the low side so the rims kind of tuck. Check her out and see what you find. I found the other day that my tires touch the black fender wall on my jag with the same size rims and tires as stock. The overall diameter should be the same all the way around the car thats why the profile of the tire gets smaller. So your overall diameter can't exceed 26" which you havn't I'm sure but with the different width that changes everything. I'd put money on it that its the width thats hastling you these cars have no rims under the wheel well like all of the other american cars. But thats also why these cars handle and maneuver better than american cars.

wheel tire size need to consider overall diameter, width and the offset.
I think that before you go any further GUESSING... you need to first of all get down on your hands and knees and find out where the rubbing is happening.
GEnerally the wheel follows the exact same path up and down with the suspension movement. Theree are some joints that have compliance, but basically the wheel follows the same movement. Lowering the car by changing the springs will not change how the tire moves inside the wheel well. the starting point ( car at rest ) willl be lower. but the shorter springs are also stiffer and so the fully loaded point shouldhave less overall movement that with stock.
If the wheels are the wrong size, and they rub with stock springs... there is no reason why they would rub any differently with lowered springs.
Anyway this is not challenging stuff. you should be able tosee where it is rubbing andthen report back.
My stock wheel/tire rub the inner fender ( actualythetread touches one of the liner mounting screws when you steer about half way to the right) so there cant be much room to mess around withaftermarket wheels, if they are not right, they will rub for sure.
Rubbing is also seriously dangerous.. one bad bump and you can cut thetire open...

That would suck....doing 120, hit a bump, tire gets shreded by the fender, you lose control, jag rolls like 5 times + bounching off the concrete like it was a basketball....you inside saying to yourself, **** this is gonna hurt....then....damn, should have listened to them guys in the Jag forum....than as the car rolls one more time you say to yourself.....damn, this is gonna be expensive all because i wanted 20 inch rims......as the jag comes to a screeching stop on it's roof...you look around and see the 6 airbags deployed...you say to yourself...****, i don't remember them going off......crawling out of your car, pants full of crap...you say to yourself....mom was right, always bring a clean pair with you......

Whether the rims are 16 or 19" shouldn't matter as long as they are compensated in the profile of the tire. Say I want 19"s the stock tire is 45 and if I have 17"s the size is 45. 18"s 40, 19"s 35. As long as the overall diameter of the overall rim and tire is the same they won't rub any more or less with the stock suspension. I hear bojangles though my fronts rub on the inner wheel well on the black plastic, and I have some slits on the edge of the tread on mine and they are the same size as the stock rims and tires. 225 45zr17? I wish I had the aguilla's or the newer 18's...

so let me see if i have your version of size down....lets say i have a 7 inch pecker, but upgrade to a 9 inch, the 9 inch will work just like the 7, just looks better with no ill effects and no rubbing of the inner walls?
Now where are them boots....i need to go for a walk....
