Hi,
anyone out there be able to help. My remote key suddenly stopped working.
I can still get in using the key and the immobiliser goes off when I turn on the car but no buttons work on the remote. I'm sure its not the remote itself as it only a year old, I changed the battery and tried to re program but no return chirps to confirm linking.

I now suspect theres an electrical fault somewhere.

My stereo resets every so often also which coincided with the remote not working so could be related.

I've also checked whatever fuses related to the locks or doors.

I'm now at a loose end, falling short of giving in and taking it the the garage and paying a small fortune can anyone give any advice on this.

Just a long shot - but worth a try....

With everything OFF (stereo, A/C, Lights, etc) open the door, insert the key and turn key to ignition ON (do not start) wait 5 secs.

Turn key off - remove key from car and then close the door. (wait 5 secs)

Now try the buttons...?
Sometimes the security system just gets confused.

If still no success... I would check the PC board in the remote and ensure that it is getting power from the battery. (checking for dirt, loose or misaligned connectors)

Tried that with no luck, gonna try the remote next and just get a new one. Just to be sure to eliminate it out. Anyone else out there with any suggestions would be great.
