Replacement Rear CV Joint

Replacement Rear CV Joint
Hi there,
I am in the process of ordering a replacement rear cv joint for my AWD X-Type (ABS issue), I have sourced a new replacement part for £35 ! (most are charging around £105), only problem is it's of the non-coated variety.
If I spray paint (hammerite direct-to-metal) over the exposed part of the joint, will this affect the signal ?
Don't want the rings rusting & falling off anytime soon.
Thanks

To answer my own question (may help others searching in the future).
IT WORKED !
I painted my non-coated joints before installation, been in the car 2 months now, no error codes, ABS works perfectly
