Don, it isn't that bad. As I recall, you have 2 bolts on the bottom of the fan assembly (bottom corner on each side) and then you need to unplug the wiring to the fan controller. From there, lift straight up. Please keep in mind that odds are you will have to remove the tray under the radiator which will add some time, but will make getting at the lower bolts that much easier. It will require the use of a T-27 Torx bit. May also need to get the front end of the car up in the air a little more so you have room to stick yourself in under the car. It all depends on how big you are.
You should be able to get a fan assembly for dirt cheap as there are tons of them out there missing their temp control modules.
