Default Reputable Jaguar Online Parts

Hello,

Unfortunately our daughter had a fender bender while driving our 2005 XType. Attached is couple of images of the damage. Because of the age of the car, collision centers in our area are not willing to fix it. I love that car and I made my mission to purchase all the parts online and hopefully find a small shop to get it fixed. We have gotten any experience with purchasing parts online for this car. We have always take to a dealer in the past. We also have not gotten to an accident with this car. This is all new to us.

If you know any online store that you could recommend, could you please share the information? Also by looking at the picture (I know it is difficult for sure) would you be able to say what we would need?

Lastly. if you have been through the similar situation before, what were the steps you have take? How did you approach the repair process?

We live in Johnson County, Kansas.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Mustafa

acayco, your best best is to start calling the local wrecking yards (aka, auto recycling centers) and seeing if any of them have an X-Type sitting on the lot or if they have the parts. In short, you are going to be hoping for someone has scrapped the car because it became too expensive to maintain (hate to see this) or the car got involved in an accident that took out the rear of the car. From there, you can then start pulling the hood, front left quarter panel, the headlight assembly, bumper cover, and possibly the structural support that goes over the radiator. Of note, when looking at headlights for the car, remember, there are 2 kinds of headlights (halogen H1 bulbs and the HID H2S bulbs). While the 2 are interchangeable, it is not necessarily straight forward. If going from halogen to HID, you have to add a wire to the plug on each side. Also take a look at the insides and see if the internal parts holding the mirrors are intact. This plastic gets brittle with age and will fail with a bit of stress. Hate to see you get a headlight assembly that you then have to rebuild right away. Not a complete loss, but if you are trying to save some effort, may need to not grab the first headlight you see.

From there, you should be able to get all the parts on the car and then the collision centers will paint the car for you. Plan on $1500 or so for the paint job, but that will make the car look like new.

Hello @Thermo I called around the Kansas City area and found a junk yard. Likely he has two 2005 x type. I will go out there and see the conditions of the hood and panel etc.

Click on the "threads" menu at the top right of the page.
Select the "Advanced" button at the bottom of the drop down list which will open the advanced search page.
Enter the member name Dr dome into the "Search by username" field and press "search now" button at the bottom.
That will display a list of his postings. At the top of that is the wording "Search:Posts Made By: Dr dome"
Click on the Dr dome and you will be taken to his profile page.
Directly under the profile picture he has (Red x-type) you will see the words "send message" and a menu arrow to the right.
Click on that and select "send private message to Dr dome" and that will open up the site's message board for you to reach out to him.
