vegas, my rockers looks just like yours. For the past year, I've been through the same crap with Jaguar as you described, almost verbatum. Their excuse for denying my claim (also after MONTHS of the run around, and un returned phone calls) was that my car had been in some type of catastrophic accident that managed to crunch both sides hard enough to warrant extensive repair to those areas (but not to total the car, mind you..), and the rust was a result of poor repair work. This was the story they stuck to, despite two written depositions from highly reputable local body shops stating the the paintwork on the car had never been touched, let a lone botched by someone else. The car also has a flawless CarFax record.
They're crooks, and won't stand behind their product or warranty. Simple as that.
I'll never own another X for this problem alone. Mechanical issues I can deal with, but gross failure of the structural integrity of the car is inexcusable. Refusing to fix it under a black and white warranty is robbery.

HOLY COW.. I am soooooooooooooo soooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooooo happy I am not alone.
I honesly lost sleep over my rust. Jag NEVER returned calls. The travelling guy that was supposed to look at my rust never had a schedule, never met me, refused to answer hundreds of phone messages. dealer shrugged... nothing more.
I talked to Customer service.. OVER AND OVER AND OVER.... I laughed, smiled for the first few times. They at totally useless ***** there at Mawah NJ... they lie, they cheat, they do everything in their power to avoid the corrosion issue. I was so red in the face screaming at them to the point where I honestly wondered if I was going to have a heart attack from their audacity. I was honestly in tears of frustration and rage with them
THis went on for months and months and months. 1.5 years in total.
I sent registered leters to Jag Canada's president addressed to new Jersy. I asked why sent to NJ, when the prez is in Canada? they insisted that was the address to send to.
Then when the post office tried to deliver the letters.. the freaking office refused to sign for them. I had to get refunded from the post office twice over this.
I sent copies of these letters via the website email.. they were answered by some **** who no matter what I wrote.. no matter how hard I demanded to be put in touch with the president, would always reply "your concens have been forwarded to the executive office"
The dealings with Jag corporate was so awful, I cant even begin to express it.
I can only sympathise with the others that have been involved in the same ridiculous process.
Anyway.. Finally last november, I just drove the the head office of Jag Canada in Toronto. I had to lie to get past their gauntlet - they dont even have a receptionist.I was ready to chaing myself to the door if I had to.
They of course denied that the guy.. Gary Moyer was even in the building.It was a full-on confrontation.....
Finally a miracle.. Mr Moyer suddenly and magically appeared in the building and he would see me.
I told him my story that takes about an hour.. including the ridiculous 7 front wheel bearing without any warranty support. and the RUST... the detailed description of the rocker construction, the layers of protection, the exposure, rock chips etc.. every last engineering detail.
the conversation was fairly calm but eventually Gary Moyer stated to shout at me telling me
"you dont know used cars.. you dont understand used cars.. you bought a used car.. and USED CARS RUST!"
I said your business is to service Used jags too.. he shouted "MY BUSINESS IS NEW CARS" not used one, he is there to sell new cars.. period.
I said well my car was at one time new and had a 6 YEAR Corrosion warranty.
bah.. the experience obviously is nothing to be proud of for anyone.
In the end he asked me to get quotes for the repair and he would pay. eventually submitted them and actually got my first phone call from Jag saying the cheque was in the mail.
after 6 weeks of waiting I started calling again.. I got the same freaking closed door response and I had to escalate the issue back to Gary Moyers office yet again.
Finally the **** at Jag Canada had the nerve to say that the problem was that DHL courrier lost it.. that she would send another right away. that she would put a stop payment on the first one and that if I got it to ignore it. Funny thing is that when i did finally get the cheque, the date on the cheque was from before that conversation, and when i cashed it .. it had no stop payment .. a second cheque never arrived.
LIARS< CHEATERS< SCOUNDRALS....
how about that if you were in charge of customer relations? do you think they did an acceptable job? all this was AFTER they had to replace my hood twice due to the body shop screwing up.

But seriously, Bojangles that is a great story. I give you alot of credit to go see Mr. Moyer and escalate the issue. Sometimes customer service is a joke especially to these large corporations and i'm happy to see that your hard work payed off!

ONE FOR THE GOOD GUYS!! Jaguar called me back today and thay gave me the green light for the rust repair! they are going to fix it! i only had to fight with them for 3 months to get it done. i will send updated pics of the before and after. i am so damn happy right now!

just droped the car off today! They gave me an X-Type as a loaner. Mine is a 2.5, theirs is a 3.0. One thing I must say is damn! That 3.0 is quick. much more then the 2.5. The 3.0 gas mpg sucks but the car is quick! For anyone looking to get an X make sure it is a 3.0.
