Default sat nav retrofit

hello!
sorry for opening up this old subject , i was searching the forum for some info regarding sat nav retrofit to a standard cd player car , but there are a lot of threads and pictures that ar posted can't be opened.
my x type is 2007 , i have underneath my back seat green and blue connectors,
i bought the following parts :
sat nav display
climate controll module
trunk dvd player
wiring loom that comes frome the trunk to te front .
as i was searching i read that the wiring loom must be modified , it's not plug and play
any ideas how?

can the lower part of the standard cd player ( the cd slot and the buttons ) can be fitted to the sat nav display?

Sarsa, not trying to persuade you into not doing this modification, but I seem to remember that there is only 1 member that has been able to get this to work properly. LIke you found, it is not plug and play and you need to get into the car's management system and get this changed there too.

For the cost and amount of stuff that you are going to have to rip out of the car to make this work, you are better suited to find a quality radio that has the SAT/NAV built into it and install that. You are going to get a lot more functionality out of it for less cost. If you are worried about loosing the steering wheel buttons, don't. There are conversion kits that you buy these days that will do that conversion for you.

Look at member Dennis Black's new videos on the X Type 9.5" Tesla screen now available for purchase and install.

Oh? Here's most of the parts you need =
Sat Nav Touchscreen (9X43 10E889 BA) & CD Head Unit (9X43-18B876-DC)
RCCM Climate Control Module (1X4H18C612CK)
Sat Nav DVD ECU (7W93 10E887 AC)
DAB Module (MOST Fiber Connection) (VP6F6F-19C034-AH)
MOST-D2B Gateway module (7W93-19C123-AD)
MOST Fiber Loom (DAB - Gateway) (part of main entertainment loom)
Bluetooth Module (7W93-10D893-AB)
D2B Fiber loom (9X43-18K925)
Main Entertainment Loom (Side of fuse box - Under back seat
Rack in boot
Roof antennas via D Pillar)

Connectors with 6" pigtails for loom behind dash as it wasn't easily removed
Roof Antenna (GPS) (7W93 19C089 AA0JKH)

DAB Amplifier for Left Side window (DAB Band 3 UK) (6H52-18C847-DB badged as Land Rover)
FM Amplifier from Right Side Window (1X43-18C847-AD)

Then look at all the other posts by Dennis and others on how to convert and or install either OEM, single din or double din aftermarket. SEARCH IS A MARVELOUS TOOL.

It’s a lot of work and effort to have outdated features IMO.

I put an Alpine Applecarplay unit in my car with backup camera etc and I never looked back . It’s not as aesthetically pleasing as the OEM option, but it’s not egregious either
