Default Seat problem

My drivers side seat won't level out, the tilt forward function has some how diable itself, all the other functions still work, any ideas on how to fix?

I have a similar problem with mine, the front tilt works but the rear height adjustment doesn't.

I have the same problem too, I can go forward and backward just not up and down.

lol

If you can still hear the motor trying to work then look at the spring shaft that goes from the motor to the mechanism that moves the seat.

yeah mine don't go up and donw, but i don't car abut that, as long as i can control the tilt, now any soltuions to this problem

Well you have to find one. I do not remember what I ended up paying for mine. It is cheaper then a seat track though. You can make one out of a few things old speedometer cable with the ends squared off come to mind.

Alrighty then, what does it look like, and are there diffreent types of spring shafts. Where can i get one and how hard is it to install

Well it looks like a wound up spring. I have used a old speedometer cable and ground down the ends to make them square. One end goes to the motor other end to the mechanism that moves the seat. 5 minutes to install it.

Sorry I do not have anymore. If you look under the seat you should be able to see them though. They are a little thicker then the replacement ink on a ball point pen!!!

Just take your seat out takes maybe a few minutes at most..

lol, maybe il just pay someone to do it, i looked under the saet and it looks pretty complicated, hmm, maybe if i shine a bit of light i can see the problem.

It was around $1100 US to fix the seat here.. Not hard to take it up and have a look just do not move the controls!!!

okay, yeah if its 110 there its proabaly 1800 to 2000 up here, hmm, i hate thses issues with the car, ill have to fix it somehow

No seat problem yet, but I've posted my question regarding rust!!! help !! and have no responses. you have an x-type, do you know anything about this issue ???
