Some clean up projects
Hey crew, thought I would post some clean up projects I've been working on.
1. Headlight restoration, I took the bumper cover off to remove the headlights so no taping. Used the Griots kit and it worked great. I thought I had a before pic and a bench pic but I guess not. I think they came out pretty good.
2. Next the little cat had/has these "protectors"? on it.
So I've been using my heat gun on low and acetone to get the glue off then polish and wax.
Again I think it looks a ton better.
And last I'm working on paint touch up using Automotive Touchup. I am NOT a body and paint guy but I'm learning and it was $100 total in supplies vs a new paint job. I put the base coat on too thick which is why it looks darker. I'll post more picks as I get better.

What did you use to paint? Compressor and spray gun?

I polished my lights a couple weeks back as I had to take the bumper off to put in a new condenser and repair my A/C. I had to fix my lights as they had the internal bracket failure issue. I used Mothers Aluminum Polish followed by a body shop polishing compound to clean the lens. Worked great.

No, it was just a rattle can from the touch up folks I mentioned. I've got some bigger spots to do so I'm thinking of getting a small compressor and spray gun, they sell the paint in quarts as well. They also have the adhesion spray (for the plastic parts), primer and clear for the whole process. Comes out ok and doesn't break the bank.
