Squeaky rear end and tire wear
Used silicon spray to hopefully stop the annoying squeaks but whilst the rear wheels were off I noticed that both tyres are worn on the inside edge. The car has a towbar so obviously used for towing in the past, am I right in thinking that saggy rear springs would cause the rear wheels to camber out at the bottom and in at the top thus placing extra strain on the rest of the components. The ride height is about right at 365mm each side (the haynes book of lies give it as 370 +/- 15mm). I gather that because mine has chrome trim not colour matched trim it is not the sport model.

The most frequent problem with the tires tilting inward at the top is the upper control arm. Attached is a link to a forum thread for and adjustable, economical replacement option. Noises can be bushings, drag links on sway bar and shock mounts.

Definitely the LOWER control arms, but if you are taking the wheels off and replacing them, go ahead and check all of the bushings under the rear. I replaced my uppers when I replaced my lowers. Bushings looked decent but I replaced them anyways since I had the car up in the air. Get a torch. It comes in handy when taking the bolts out. They are in there pretty tight with all of the build up (dirt, rust, etc.)
