Steering Wheel Swap, Sort Of...
Swapped out the old wheel today for the 2004.25 one, pretty straightforward after I bent up a new retention wire for the new airbag...
Take it out to test drive, and the cruise switch isn't playing right.
'Resume' turns cruise on, 'Cancel' turns cruise off, wheel doesn't do anything.
Guess I have to take the bag off and ring out the controls later today.
Not sure if I pinched a wire, or if one of the connectors or the control is bad.
For what it is worth, the controls are actually resistors switched to ground, regardless of the style switch pack you have.
On the old control (side mount), resistance readings from the output (pins 1 and 3 of the plug) should be:
rocker off- ground 0 ohms
rocker on- 2200 ohms
top switch resume- 3200 ohms
top switch cancel- 4200 ohms
top switch Set [+]- 4000 ohms
top switch Set [-]- 3700 ohms
New style switch is supposed to be the same, per the JTIS, except that the wheel has spring loaded switches for on and off at the top and bottom respectively rather than a separate on-off rocker on the side.

PICS !!
LOL -- sometimes the simplest jobs become to most frustrating. I had to do an oil change on my Excursion yesterday and ended up dropping the old filter ( right after it unscrewed from the mount - while I was on my back ) in the driveway and watched it roll down to the end all the while leaking a steady stream of old motor oil !
