Stereo Question

Hi. I have the Stock Stereo that the car came with. When i bought the car, the stereo was asking for the code. My dealership gave me the code for nothing, which was very nice. But after i punched the code in, the stereo sounded weird. This car has the premium sound option w/o navi. I have the tape deck (!) with the 6 disk changer in the trunk. I figured out the problem. the door tweeters all work, but all the Door speakers are not working. This seems weird to me. why would just the midrange speakers malfunction? i took the driver's side read door card out (broke EVERY clip) and now have the blue alpine speaker sitting next to me.
TL;DR question 1: would all 4 of the speakers be bad? question 2: should I replace them with stock speakers or should i try something else?
thank you in advance as everyone here is VERY helpful.

>You will have to replace all 4door speakers. They have all blown.
Actually they have not really blown. Rather the glue that holds the magnets on the paper speaker cones has deteriorated and the magnet have fallen off.
Same result, you have to replace one or more of them... :-)

Unclefish, grab one of the clips and go to the local auto parts stores. Go to their trim section and see what you can find there. The bigger the parts store, the more likely you will find something that will suit your needs.
As for the speakers, yes, what you are finding out happens. The midranges take the majority of the abuse from the sound system and then you mix in the glue issue and well, it is a recipe for failure.
