Default Stereo questions

Hi, I am planning on buying an X-Type very soon and want to change the stock sterio. I don't know if I should get a double DIN or single. My mate has a double DIN with a DVD system he baught from ebay. It is not a flush fit and pokes out. I want a flush fit. I was thinking if I get a single DIN I may get one which the screen comes out and up with the following fascia plate;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JAGUAR-X-Type-...item3a4fef002d

so I can put stuff in there. Or maybe even a double DIN. Which system would you guys recommend, my budget is £200-£250. I want a flush fit and it has to have bluetooth, USB, some sort of connectivity to iphone, play MP3's etc. Also I DEFINETELY want to connect it to the steering wheel controls. what is the name of the wire I will need and when looking for a system whether it is single or double din, what type of connector does it have to have for that steering wheel controls wire to connect to. This wire is part of the 200-250 by the way. Also I want the sound to sound as it would with the stock sterio, because my mate, when he put on his double din from ebay which is called XTRONS, his sound is not good quality at all like his stock used to be.

Smile after market sterio

Hi i purchased and fitted an xtrons 713 double din sterio about a month ago, which i fitted to my 2001 x type, works absolutely fine, has everything on it, ,cd,radio,dvd, rear camera tv bluetooth etc and it cost £148 on ebay from a recognised seller,the sound is as good if not better than the oem jaguar cd player and at less than half the cost, only things i had to buy was a wiring harness aerial adaptor and double din blanking plate, it took a bit of perseverence to get it to fit flush but looks and sounds amazing, i would highly recommend one of these units .

Smile Music system

I can't see why anyone would want to change the music system in these cars, I have the base CD AM, FM set up and the sound is fantastic. I listen to everything from the Rammones, Black Sabbath to 50's Doo Wop and Mississippi Delta Blues and it all sounds terrific. I am 65 years old perhaps Loudness is not in my genomes.

The one thing I might add is a subwoofer, even thou the bass is not bad at all is you set the bass to +7 and the Treble to -7, and even with these settings I get no buzz from the speakers.
