Hi guys,
New to the forum and looking for some help. I just bought a 2002 X-Type that has the 4 speaker, cassette and cd changer factory stereo in it. I'm looking to run my iPod through the stereo via an AUX cable, but the OEM unit does not have an AUX input.
1st question-Does anyone know a good way to add AUX input capability to the existing stereo?
2nd question-Is it possible to replace the OEM stereo with a better aftermarket unit without ruining the look of the console? The OEM stereo is kind of built into the whole dash area.
3rd question-Assuming I can add an AUX jack and decide to keep the stock head unit, is it possible to just upgrade the factory speakers and, if so, any suggestions on what to buy.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I dont believe there are any options for an aux in besides going with a wired modulator. Circuit City carrys them and they are $50 but you need two antenna adapters which are about $50 also. Going with any aftermarket single din radio doesn't look good to me personally. I put a double din avicd3 in mine, but it is decent amount of work with fitment.

audio connectivity module=ACM. It allows you to connect your iPod, Mp3 player, Memory stick, or any other device to you factory radio. it is installed in the armrest. do you have a Jaguar dealer near you? if you call them or go there they will show you or tell you everything about it. My first X-Type did not have it, The new one i got does have it. very nice! I could not live without it.
