sticking door handle scenario

sticking door handle scenario
My passenger door handle has been sticking so that it will not open from the outside. I know this is a common flaw and many have suffered from it. The solution, it seems, is to strip the door interior off and adjust the handle mechanism.
I didn't have time for this, so I just lifted the handle (from the outside) and sprayed some WD40 into the handle mechanism. I also sprayed some into the handle mechanism from the inside aspect of the door.
Hey presto!!!!! It has been working for about a week now without a problem. I couldn't / cant believe it.
I hope this works for others, as it's much easier than striping the door apart.
