stock HID bulb replacement? RESOLVED
hello all,
i may be new to posting but ive been lurking for a few months now. I purchased an 03 x type with 140k in march for 2500, i'll post pics later.
I just recently noticed my low beam passenger side bulb is out. Once i got to the parts store, they quoted me at 90 dollars just for the bulb (it is the HID)
Knowing i can almost certainly get it cheaper online i declined to buy it. Ive been looking like crazy and all i can find is HID conversions, not a single normal replacement bulb. Searching the forums here, all i can find is HID conversion posts. Nothing on where i can find a normal HID replacement bulb for a decent price. any ideas??
thank you in advance!

I'll have to look it up but if I remember correctly it was D2S. I would get a pair of them if I were you so they match. Found it. http://www.lightbulbs4cars.com/jaguar%20bulb%20guide

Five, like was mentioned, the bulbs for our cars are the D2S bulbs. You can get whatever color bulb you want to get, but it must be a 35W bulb. That is what the factory bulbs are power rating wise (not 50 or 55 like you might think). If you have any more questions about the HID bulbs and the pros/cons of the various bulbs, let me know.

Five, this is what I will tell you and you can take it for what it is worth. MUST YOU??? NO!!!!!!! But, keep in mind that by pushing your hand in there, you are going to be bumping and banging into all sorts of things there and plan on some scrapes and whatnot on your hands. Also, we are finding that with age, the plastic supports for the headlight internals are getting brittle. So, one good bump and they will break. Now your headlight is going to be bouncing all over the place and will definitely not face straight forward like you want it to.
Besides, while pulling the bumper cover off sounds like a lot of work, it isn't that bad. After your first time doing it, you can get it off in about 30 minutes. The trick is knowing that there are 2 10mm nuts (1 on each side) that are on the back side of the bumper cover between the side marker light and the wheel well. The rest of the fasteners are right out in the open for you to get at.
