Hey x2 jagenius has them 200 per pair and the front or rear are the same price...he only charges for whatever the shipping costs he guesses about 20-30 bucks per set...I found a place by me that can get shocks for me locally and they want 130-140 per strut/shock...so for 220-230 you get a set shipped is a better deal by far!

Is that price for the X-type sport Bilstien shocks or the Bilstien HD?

I believe that was for the bilstein hd...I was pretty sure the hd are the same thing as the sport shocks...that is also what the shop I went to said...I'm trying to find where I asked him how much...inable to find right this second though...

OK I lied they are for the bilstein sports shocks...here is where I asked him how much and all of that....

Thats sweet man! Let me go collect more aluminum cans so i can purchase them sooner. HA!...no seriously thats a great deal. Replacements parts for the Jag are not cheap and performance parts are harder to find at low cost.

Yeah I know...he said that he'd put them on ebay and end the auction with you buying or whatever to make you feel more safe/secure...not sure how long it would take but i'm sure he could have them to you by early next week pretty easily....

Guys , honestly, thanks for all the information, I decided to go with the Bilstein HD suspension. Can I keep my stock springs? the whole set (front back) will cost about 600.

I couldn't find any good prices for springs ( 4 springs for 240) and thats without the suspension. Can I just change the shocks and expect to see better handling??

SomeKid, is this what you did? Jag Genus, can you get me a price on a complete sport suspension for my x (shocks and springs)

Thanks

yes, supra. the HD are for stock height vehicles and totally worth it. you dont need to lower the vehicle as your handling will change alot with these dampers alone.

Hey bo what did you pay for the shocks? Jag genius gave me a price of 200 plus 20-30 shipped to me... in total about 230 for the front and than the same for the rear...1st jag 460 for all shocks is the most you should pay...you could also try either the dealer or import car parts store and work a deal with them but I'd just use jag genius...

I'm about to purchase the Bilstein HD's for my 02 Sport and wanted to know if anyone has installed these shocks with an Eibach Pro Kit spring set? Does anyone know how the car would ride with this setup? Would I bottom out a lot? I live in an area with plenty of rough roads. I think the X would look real smooth with a 1.4 inch drop f&r but I don't want to sacrifice safety nor listen to thehoneysnaggin.

Hey agl I got a price from my local dealer for bilstein's (not sure if they are hd or not but they are for the sport) and they only wanted 115-120 for each strut...just a thought hit your dealer up they actually have a decent price for parts...I haven't replaced mine yet...

Aquill1,

Good lookin Big Dawg. Just hit up Jag, $116 each F&R, $50 for damping mounts (need 2), $53.15 for bearings (need 2). Total $670.30 plus tax & install. As I think about it the my suspension is fine. I'm just considering lowering the X a bit as I upgrade to 18's. Unfortunately I haven't been able to dig up much in the way of whether or not it would be worth the sacrifice in ride quality or if I would have rubbing problems. The wheels are 18x7.5 38mm offset and tires will be 225/40/18's.

The jag dealer does not sell HD's. They give you bilstein touring series shocks. the same ones that are already on your x'type. Black with blue dust cover. HD's are yellow. I have them and they make a big difference. You cannot get them at a jaguar dealer. As for rubbing, i have the exact sameoffset. Get 215/40s. 225s rub with my stock height x, drop it and you'll be miserable.

BTW, if you have a sport model, its already 1.5 inches lower than stock xtype. I dont know of anyone that lowered a sport model. if anything, just get the HD's and 215mm tires. leave the height alone.

How come you want to drop her more? Personally if you plan on dropping I wouldn't get the 18's...mine are 17's and they rub and I have the stock sport suspension on mine...just get different rims and go from there if thats what you were looking for. To me though if you need to drop it and to make up for the drop and wanting 18's 215 on a 7.5wide rim doesn't protect the lip...me personally go for the 18's and 225 40 18 for tires!

Tru dat. I think I'll leave it a lone and just go wit 18's. Is there anyone out there selling 18' Aruba's dirt cheap? If so holla atcha boi. What's the offset of the Aruba wheels? I think they come shod with 225/40/18 from Jag wit no rub.

You'd be correct! Good luck finding a set! I found a set for like 300 for rims/tires but only 3 of them...the last rim/tire would have been upwards of 350 just for rim and than I would have replaced all tires to keep them the same tread and all...good luck just keep your eyes peeled! Also try here LINKY THINGY

Also try these...though they only come in 17's but they do look very similar to aruba's
but they only cost 139 a rim or something like that...
