Synthetic for auto transmission?
Ok so specs are pretty much against using anything except specific menitoned brands for auto transmissions (or any trans for that matter) in the X-type...
But Im wondering if you think using Mobil 1's synthetic auto trans fluid is good? I dont want to blow my tranny up by using an unsupported fluid... but Jag doesnt say you can use synthetic engine oil either, but I do, many do. And its great.
What do you all think? Mobile 1's synethic auto tranny fluid mentions it adheres to Mercon V type fluids and jag's specs mention mercon V as an option...

RE: Synthetic for auto transmission?
JTIS manual gives directions on how to do it, doesnt seem hard, except it doesnt really say where the drain plug is specifically at.
Many say only use tranny oil that meets specs, but most synthetics are completely different than specs but work even better. Just like synthetic engine oil compared to the jag spec'd Castrol GTX.
What about brake fluid? Specs are super dot 4, but what about a synthetic?
