Can't say much about the wagon since i never owned one myself, except for a 76 ford station wagon and a 71 "lil red wagon" where my dog used to pull it and i would pretend he was a horse and.....damn i did it again, got sidetracked....

Only thing i can say is if you're going for a wagon type jag, get the 3.0L and make sure in a 05 on up. They got all the bugs out in the 05 model year.

Welcome and best of luck!

Im going to get an X Type Estate (Wagon)nextcar.
Will have to be the 2.2d Sovereign though with all the bells and whistles with a chip to boost performance.
Theincreasing cost of running a 3.0 over hereand huge depreciation are a concern.
The diesels hold their value better, cheaper to tax and insureand twicethe mpg.
Need the extra room to for growing family and drives to France each year.
The X Typeis agreat looking car for an Estate!

I have one, and love it! 2005, 3.0 AWD, purchaed with 3500 miles on it. Live in Chicago, Illinois so AWD comes in handy on side streets and slushy/icy parking places. I can fit 4 golf bags in the back. Haven't had a problem not being able to fit things in the cargo area. When you put the back seats down, there's a ton of space, although it's not perfectly flat. So far that hasn't been a problem. It could be faster, but then I'd get tickets. I shift a lot, and still get 20.8 MPG city. Every quarter we drive it on a 350 mi round trip, and my gas mileage goes up to 24+ at 80-85 MPH. My wife gets it up to 26-27 MPG, because she drives 65-70 MPH.

Based on my experience, I'd buy another oneif they sold them here. You can get them new in Canada, I believe. Canada is a better X-Type market for Jag, so I imagine they sell the wagon up there as well. Anyone want to chime in on the accuracy of that?

I live in Western Canada and have only ever seen one X-Type wagon. It was an 05 and had the Sport interior like mine (seats, less wood, etc) but it was bright red and they wanted HUGE dollars for it because it only had 9K miles on the clock and they are rarer than hen's teeth in these parts. There are a couple '05s on eBay in the US. I keep looking at them...
