i will post a pic of the insert tomorrow, It didnt come out bad just was pain to install. Those plastic fins are harder then you think to cut and sand down. The mesh insert kept trying to pop up. So trying to tighten all the screws and fiddle with the stupid thing was another aggravating part. All in all wasnt too bad just have to have patience (which i dont have lol)

I don't see why not Aquill.....just getting a good match would be difficult I think!
Be a lot cheaper though as you could just buy a section and do upper n lower out of the same piece

Well I actually have an entire 3x9 sheet left over from the wifes parents fireplace...I tried to take the bottom apart while in the middle of doing the fireplace but didn't get too far...I'd definitely paint it black though!

Aquil, stop. Stop. Do not use a cheap Honda civic shortcut on a jag. You'll break my damn heart if you make a mesh grill from home depot. Its 89 bux, suck it up!

Aquill, he does have a point you know.....
Me for one, I'll either buy the real thing and do the job....or I wont.
Then again, some of us are different AND have the time and are pretty good at that sorta thing.

I've just spent the last 15 mins tryin to find a post about a guy who did just that.
Bought some sheet mesh, cut out templates for upper n lower grilles, cut the mesh....even made a rubber housing for the lower grille .....all for pennies.
To be fair......looking at the end resulta and then seeing them on the car.......You would NOT know the difference!
Of course....I can t find the bloody thing can I?

Check out this guy for "making" mesh grilles...oh yeah....and steering wheels, mods to this and mods to that.......The guys good.
I swear the mesh grilles look just as good as any you could buy, and he made them for next to nothing!

Hey somkidz why don't you suck it up for me!!! Better yet suck my....ok I'll stop!

Thats why I want to make them myself! I don't have 100 to spend on mesh...I have mesh lying in the garage at in-laws house going to be thrown away...I'd rather spend a weekend making some perfect grilles than spend 100 on just the upper...besides I'd rather fix my suspension than spend 100 on a grill....just trying to see what I can do...I know its possible my buddy made some for his older bonneville and it turned out fine...I'd rather also put 100 into a double din with navi than into the grill..I get wholesale cost on all that stuff so I'd rather buy that than the grill...
