Top ten things I miss about the X-Type...
Two months ago I posted about swapping our X-Type for a Honda Pilot (of all things): https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...e-gone-123861/
And while I am enjoying the simplicity and peace of mind of driving the Honda, there are definitely things I miss about the Jag - some pleasant, some, not so much.
So... Here are the top ten things I miss about the X-Type:
Number 10: Having to pull over, get out, open the trunk and re-insert the CD carrier when it jams during a disc-change.
Number 9: Breaking into a big grin when I walked out of the house and saw the sweet baby sitting quietly in the driveway.
Number 8: Explaining to my across-the-street neighbor, on an almost weekly basis, how it was that I could afford to drive a Jaguar on a public servant's salary (turns out I couldn't ).
Number 7: Having to locate, on a semi-regular basis, the precise spot between the driver's door handle and the window sill to press my thumb in order to get the lock to release. It's a trick I learned here. And I still am amazed that someone figured THAT out!
Number 6: Inhaling that addicting aroma of Connolly Leather every time I got into the car.
Number 5: Having to reach into the rear passenger compartment to find a cup holder for the second soft drink when picking up a "to-go" order from Burger King (It was a 2003 model).
Number 4: The stares of admiration from almost every other motorist who doesn't drive a Jaguar.
Number 3: Feeling the need to include a monthly budget line-item to cover unexpected repairs.
Number 2: Running my hand along the curves of the sensuous body just because it felt so good to confirm what my eyes were telling me.
And now...
The Number One reason I miss my X-Type:
That perfectly-hued ambient illumination lamp that casts a soft and seductive amber glow over the shifter and console at night. Simply luscious. And I miss it!!!
