Two different Sounds

05 x type, 98k on it.
Not sure if this is a transfer case issue, wheel bearing issue, or just me being paranoid. When driving on normal roads, 0- 50 mph there is a slight noise coming from the car, it sounds like a wheel bearing, but it isn't loud. Could it also be the tires not balanced?
On the highway, doing between 55-70ish, a noise is there when accelerating. The second I take my foot off the gas, the noise is gone. It also goes away when I gun it as well...I'm not sure if thats just how jags sound when the engine is at work, or if its something else.
any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

I watched the video of the member that posted the whistling noise. Def nothing like that. The acceleration noise on the highway very sensitive, what I mean is, just the slightest acceleration and you hear it. The moment you let off and its gone.. The other noise is ther if your accelerating or just costing, which makes me think it is a wheel bearing.

I'm not sure, but when my t-case failed I originally thought the noise was a wheel bearing especially since one had failed not long before so I thought I recognized the noise...
However, I really recommend you take the car to your friendly mechanic and do the drain-raise one side-fill t-case fluid replacement. Cheap money that may resolve the problem or help you diagnose a bigger one.

Hey Big Heads Up Here.
I just replaced the Transfer Case on my X-type at 100k miles. It started as a very mild whine under acceleration, and progressively got worse over time.
I HIGHLY recommend taking it to the dealership because they can put it on a rack, get the car up to speed, and isolate the noise for free.
The prices to replace my Transfer case were $2933 for a used part with 90k miles, or $4332 for a new remanufactured part. Honestly, if its diagnosed as the transfer case, with 100k miles, the car isn't worth the repair unless you are completely in love with it. STOP driving it, and get it on the market. Sell it fast, and save your self the debt.
Hope this info helped
Goodluck!
