Tyres some EU/UK data + comment on Pirelli noise
It is now possible in the UK to compare tyres using some data rather than what other drivers say.
"On 1 November, new European tyre labelling regulations come into force that could make driving safer, more economical, less polluting and less noisy."
Some more info
BBC News - New European tyre labelling could save money and lives
Values for :- Fuel efficiency/ rolling resistance, Wet grip / braking performance and noise are now available
A search of the Black circles web site gives a good selection of easily read data. Etyres also give a similar list
I did see a comment on one tyre site re Pirelli tyres becoming noisy when worn down.
A did a Google search - Pirelli tyres worn noisy - this produced quite a few comments.
I generally want a quiet car except when I ask it for action then I expect a GROWL!
