warranty not worth the paper.....
Hi guys, I am seeking some advise about my warranty.
I purchased a 51 plate X-type in January 2008 from the Jag dealership attatched to an EssexFord garage. The car came with 1 years 'Ford' warranty. recently the car's engine warning light came on and I began to lose power. I had it checked out and Jag said it was theoxeygen sensor and that it would cost me £160 to repair the problem. They also found many other faults such as problems with the suspension, 'very dirty' brake fluid, washer pipe leaking onto the engine, 1 tyre below the legal limit and some other minor faults. The agentsaid these problemswill not be covered under warranty. I am really annoyed as I bought the car in good faith and they said that as Jaguar had such high standards that they would not sell me a car without it being serviced and comprehensively checked prior to passing it over to me.
I have done just over 3,000 miles since I bought it. The car was also sold without the service history or service book and they reassured me they would provide me with a letter stating it had indeed got full Jag service history as it is recorded on the computer files for the car. That letter has never arrived! I feel I have been mugged by these salesmen and I am very unhappy about the service. They do not call back when I speak to them either in person or on the phone. I will be writing to them and sending a copy to Jaguar customer services but I feel this will not lead to a satisfactory outcome judging by the attitude I have faced so far.
Has anyone please got any advice or similar experience to mine?
Cheers!

RE: warranty not worth the paper.....
It is too easy to dealer bash.
I am sorry about that bad service.. (lies actually) and hope you can sort it out.
Jag seems to be having a really hard time with their "entry level" x-type customers, seems like in the past they never had to be accountable for themselves.
The market segment for the X-type is much different than for the bigger more$$$ jags. the customers expect logic and reason but Jag was never trained in that.
Dont feel alone.. keep up the battle....eventually Jag will figure it out.
