Angry well, i messed that up

Trying to get the lower arm off the knuckle in order to do a bearing change....go the nut off but the bolt wont budge...its a t55 star bolt and using that it totally stripped the head. Now i am stuck....ugh

Advice, besides not trying to do this myself again???

If I recall correctly, I think that bolt is just a pinch bolt held in by the nut and corrosion. If you can get your hands on an air hammer or air chisel, you should be able to push the bolt out.

Gergs, I know the bolt that you are talking about. You can try an air hammer to try and split the nut in half or you can take an angle grinder/cut-off tool and then cut the nut off/away. From there, you will be able to take a hammer and punch and remove the bolt that way. Then you would need to get another bolt. Instead of going with a Jag only bolt, a local fastener shop (I use Fastenal) will be able to get you a shouldered grade 8 bolt or the high strength metric equivalent.

Ok.....got the entire thing apart with a big help from a friend. Just FYI for anyone else....everything on my 02 was completely frozen together and it took tons of PB Blaster to help loosen everything up.

Question: what are the bolt specs that I need? It was pretty much ruined when we finally used a punch to knock it out.......

AND....the bearing was completely destroyed. I can't believe how torn apart it was.
I should post a pic but I only have 8 posts....will do here when I get ten posts.
