Default What does LS mean on my 2003 XType

Hi Guys,

I have a 2003 XType LS AWD 2.5L V6, nobody seems to be able to tell me what the LS means in this model. One person said it was a Top of the Range Model Limited Edition, but they weren't entirely sure. I've seen lots of SE and Sports Models but only 1 LS Model. Can somebody give me a definitive answer please?

Kind Regards

Welcome to the forum harley0077,

I'll leave that one to the model experts as I have no idea!

I dont think Jaguar ever made an X LS , even for the export market. The previous owner may have stuck after market badges on it , or maybe off Lincoln just for fun .

Why didn't I think of that!

Here's all the options in the Parts Catalogue:

Strange that the parts book badges dont show the limited edition badge on my X type . "SPIRIT " only 450 made....Probably not worth including in catalogue...http://www.carpages.co.uk/jaguar/jag...e_18_10_04.asp

Harley, like was mentioned, it is probably someone trying to be cute and make people think that they have something more than what they really have or they simply replaced the "SE" lettering and got one of the letters wrong.

Also possible that someone was trying to be funny and thought the Lincoln LS and the X-Type are related, while it's actually the LS and the S-Type that share parts with each other.
