hey there, so i went to move may car out of the garage to program the garage door opener when i noticed a white crystalline residue underneath where my car was moments ago. it was parked there overnight.
car is a 2007 x-type and i live in southern ontario, canada (mid 30C's temp right now)

substance was completly dry so clearly overnight it evaporated leaving this stuff.
any insight would be appreciated as i've looked online but found nothing on white crystalline deposits under cars.

Elmo, I would first take a look at your coolant expansion tank and see how that is doing. It is possible that it is leaking and collecting on the floor. That can lead to white crystals. I really doubt it is an issue with your A/C system as you only get water out the cooling coil drain and even if you were leaking freon, you would have the freon evaporate away leaving behind a greenish mess in the way of the oil that is in the freon.
The only other thing that I could possibly think it could be is corrosion from an electrical cable. But, that should be more of a chunk than a roundish type of pile.

Hmm; apart from an itinerant clumsy coke dealer, kipping down in your garage, have you considered that this might not have anything directly related to your car.
It could be the concrete undergoing a spot of 'Efflorescence', which leaves a white powdery deposit in the surface.
Can be seasonal, and the high temp + right humidity can be a cause.
Usually occurs with newer concrete, and will stop after 3 to 4 years when all the moisture has disappeared from the concrete. Of course assuming that moisture is not coming up through the concrete.
If it is efflorescence, then remove the substance, brush, power wash and thoroughly dry. If left untouched the product will react with CO2 and form a carbonate deposit that is a toughy to remove.
The heat from your car could be creating just the right conditions.
Course, I may be way off.

im not sure about Efflorescence as the concrete is about 7 years old, also i looked at pictures of the phenomena and it looked as though it creates more of a white "fuzz" or stain type of look, whereas what i saw in my garage had fairly large crystals, some of which were bigger than the rocks on an engagement ring...of a non-millionaire. and the spread pattern suggests it was in a liquid state at some point. Il keep an eye out on coolant as i did get the car with near empty coolant tank.
-Thanks for the inputs so far, Il update as i find anything
