Default what kind of transmission oil should replace the original

Hello,
Following discovery of a transmission oil cooler leak (by three mechanics), I need to replace this cooler. With this occasion, I would like to change the transmission oil with a new one but I wouldn't let the mechanics put their own oil/s. I saw a guy changing this oil on the internet with, what he described wash-rinse-repeat (twice) so that the dark oil be replaced with a new clean one. He used a Castrol Syntrans Multivehicle 75w-90. What do you recommend? Thank you.

This has the correct fluid listed in the description for an automatic. You didn't state if auto or manual. For the other fluids I prefer and use royal purple 75w-90 max-gear synthetic which would also work in a manual X transmission.

Here's a video on a 2.5 manual in Britain, I don't totally agree with his fluid choice but, =

SUPERB INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL, DELL. My car's transmission is automatic. I have a little problem with measuring and replacing the measured quantities as the original fluid was lost through its cooler's leaking (and the mechanics say) for long time --at least 2 years?-- so what can be measured is the remaining from the cooler's leaking loss. Replacing what is measured after its loss would be less than the car would need, wouldn't it?
Too bad that I cannot know how much I should add after the cleaning procedure of this remaining from loss fluid.
Thank you so much for your beautiful explanation.

The only way is in the link I provided on the transmission fluid change. Just read it throughly because if you remove the wrong plug to check the fluid level, it is connected to the reverse band and mucks up your transmission! Read everything more than once so you are confident in your approach.

Especially HEED post #32 link.

I just the bad news from the dealer who was supposed to sell me the C2S16262 part (the transmission cooler) telling me that they don't have the part. SNG Barratt sells it for $506.30! So I am back to looking for another cooler replacement. So AFTER I get it (God knows how a little bit cheaper) the cautiousness in removing the correct plug comes to not me but the mechanic to whom I will trust this service. Should I show him your pictures?
Thank you.

HELP!!: I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT ALL THE THREAD DISAPPEARED, INCLUDING YOUR BEAUTIFUL LINK AND PICTURES! HOW CAN I GET YOUR INFO BACK, PLEASE?

Have you ever bought parts from these people? Are they trustful? I saw their webpage before but I didn't order from them because I was afraid that at that price their parts could be counterfeit. Should I trust them? SNG Barratt says they don't have and will not have it because allegedly (other dealers say otherwise) it is discontinued. I am waiting for the part again. Thank you for your kind replies and advice for cautiousness.
