Wheel bearing replacement, OE with Timken?
So I pulled the knuckles off my 04' and picked up the timken replacement bearings. My Jag mechanic points out that the timken doesn't have one side with a plastic dust cover that typically the OE bearing has which covers the exciter ring for the ABS sensor. This timken part (510029) is what all the part suppliers list as the replacement. Also, the bearing in the timken box, was a SKF bearing. The existing bearings in the knuckles are SKF bearings, but different part numbers! Don't want to go through all this to get an ABS fault! Anyone care to chime in???
