So lowering my X-Type wouldn't be a good idea since I have 19's huh? More like a deathwish! Somebody told me to get coilovers, so its adjustable.
I might just pass all together on lowering it. I just hate the wheel well gap on my X. I'll stick to the thicker profile tires (225/35/19) that I've been planning on getting.

Coilovers would be nice, but the only ones ive seen are the KW variant ones, and the rear is not adjustable, just the front. I think it also depends on the width of the rim and the offset for the rubbing. But if you get a wider tire, i guess that makes the width the same. Good luck with it.

You could always try the springs and see what happens and remove them and sell em' if they don't work out?!

jmg7184, Yes 19x8 wheels w/ 225/35/19 tires and a stock suspension will fit on the X-type w/o rubbing. I have 215/35/19's and it doesnt rub at all; I'm planning on putting some 225/35/19 when these wear out. Good luck!

Nice rims Rudy; I wanted to get the same from WheelMax.com. Nice package for some 18's. How are they working for you?

one other thing no one on here has mentioned yet... the same size tire can vary from brand to brand, sometimes by quite a lot. someone measured some tires on a forum i used to frequent for a former vehicle and found 3 brands, all the same size, varied as much asan inchwhen measured with a tapemeasure.

I've only had them on the car for a couple of days, took them back off due to snow and ice we can't get away from. The Toyo Proxes 4's SUCK in snow. They really do look good and fit wellthough, and the ride/handling is great (without the snow!)

Mine rubbed bad on the rear drivers side too, is it me, or does the left side of the car look slightly lower then the right?

Yeah, I hear you on the proxes 4 statement. I bought a full set for my monte carlo and the tires SUCKED HORRIBLY! I had to ride a whole winter from november all the way through the winter here in Michigan. My thunderbird was a better driving car (rear wheel drive) than my monte carlo (front wheel drive) was! I have toyo proxes z1r on the x right now and they aren't that good but the awd makes up for the lack of good tires. My escape has toyo open country on them and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM TO DEATH! They are a very good looking tire and functioning tire. The sidewall on them feels more solid with the escape vs. the stock tires which made the escape feel very uneasy. The braking also improved with the new tires on wet and snowy roads. I love toyo but not the tires they have out for the cars in the winter here in Michigan.

Hey Aquill1, how are the Proxes4's in rain? (Think I-94 by the airport where the wheel tracks can hold an inch or 2 of water.)

They are actually pretty good in the rain (considering we've gotten more of the clear wet stuff than the white flaky stuff!) and water but once you hit some snow they aren't that great. I looked at belle tire for some other tires and they brought out some dunlop winter tires and if I get some rims i'd definetely get the snow tires because they are sooooo nice. The rubber on those snow tires is all soft and stuff and has awesome tread. The tires are so soft though that once we hit 90 degrees here in the D with all of that humidity and what not the tires would be eaten up so fast. Don't travel too much down that way by 275 and 94 and that with the jag. Did go to the car show with it though!
