As Racer said, it would be best to have professional hi and low pressure
gauges but you can get by with a recharge kit form an Automotive store.
They have a built in pressure guage for the low pressure side and a
trigger. You connect it up with the AC on high and you will get a reading
on the low pressure side. The gauge is usually color coded to tell you
if the level is low. Not a pro set up by any means but works to
recharge your system. The hose and guage are reusable too.
Are you having a problem with your AC?

no.. no real problems
its just not as cold as id like it sometimes and I think the refrigerant level is low..
but let me rephrase
I bought a recharge kit with a guage..
where is the low pressure port so I can check and maybe refill....
i dont know which one is high and which is low..
if I am even looking at the right ports..

Yeah, it's dumb to keep adding refrigerant into a leaky system.
here is the high side gage port, I don't have apicture of the Low side.....Unless you know what you're doing, leave it to the experts..this system can be easily and costly damaged if over charged.

Need more cold air? I leave in an aried side of the country where it really gets hot in summer as in very hot( the city that never sleeps, Las vegas) and I used my AC most of the time. I experienced the fluctuatuation in temperatureto warmer air. Try closing all the air vents on the passenger side if your alone driving and decrease the demand to lower temperature, set your ac on automatic, after a few minutes you feel the coolnes again.
If you have a leak, your will never get a cool air from your ac after awhile of driving. for it dissipitate very quickly. I have my xtype ac system checked from a proffessional ac mechanic in town but I was given the impression that most of the non-europeanAC specialist are hessitand to mess with it. Given that impression, I wouldnt mess around with it my self. Specially the AC system is so delicate that when its broken , It can cost an arm and a leg to get it fixed. recommend get a jaguar dealer diagnose it for you..
My 2 cents.............

seems to me that the two things are directly related.

I am just having fun man.. dont get mad. I fully understand the need for working AC. lets work together on finding out what is the problem. what we really need is some accurate information.
Find a digital thermometer (even a cheap indoor outdoor one) and put the sensor in one of the dash vents.
run the AC and jot down some temperature readings. note the outside temp also from your display. This way you can have the outside temp, the inside car temp, and the air temp from the AC.
do this with the car in recirc and fresh air mode.
if your kit has a gauge (note how to spell this LOL) and you can hook it up without piercing the can of R134, get a reading for that too.

RE: Where do you check the refrigerant level at?
i knew i spelled that wrong.
lol.
you know I think I just figured out what the problem might be.
the outside temperature is wrong sometimes...
It will sometimes say like 115 degrees when its really about 80.. so the sensor might be throwing things off...
anyone have any info on the exterior temperature sensor?
I mean it still gets cold...
but my friends cadillac cts gets freezing..
which bothers me..
lol

Check interior temp sensor inside cab, under drivers side knee panel. Over the years it can collect dust and what not, masking the true temp of the interior.
The interior temp sensor also has a mini fan blowing on it to circulate cabin air (that's how it knows what the cab temp is) check it and ensure fan is still working.
If the sensor checks out, check the A/C system pressure.
