The clicking I had I used the ball joint to describe it but the problem was in the drive shaft of my awd system on the x. They replaced the whole thing which was like a total of maybe 10 bolts total! The dealer paid for the fob but keep in mind when you need them both to have them re-program the car, so I have no idea what it costs to do the work I'd imagine that was included in the price of the fob. I'd give them a call and find out!

Racer mate.......thats cos you treat them with soo much TLC.....lol
although, I gotta be honest after 15 years and 800,000 miles (approx) and company cars which i've thrashed big time, but they have been serviced regularly and looked after in other ways.......I've had many problems, but I dont think I've had driveshaft trouble that I can remember..........
Who knows why it should cause problems with one and not the other?

I don't know either racer, I wish it was something like the transmission that went bad! They checked it out and the noise stopped after they replaced the shaft but hey I am not a mechanic!

Well, maybe thats the root of my noise too...........although its been fairly quiet just lately[&:]...............who knows?
Just had it MOT'd today ( for you guys over the pond - thats an annual road worthiness test required by law for cars over 3 years old) and it passed with flying colours..............absolutely nothing needed?

My dealer didn't tell me **** even though i asked them to look at it. I still have to call them back and see if they even looked at the tranny/driveshaft. I still hear rattling noises and on once in a while.

Dont know bout you, but that really grips my sh*t..............when you, as a customer, ask the dealer to do sumthin, and they just ignore you, like, what does he know?? He's only the customer!!

Hey Jim, so i get a call from Jag today asking ifI was satisfied. Guess what i said, no i was not effing satisfied.

I told the lady i will call the dealer regarding the stuff they were supposed to fix.
1 - they forgot to fix the front passenger side speaker
2 - the driver seat still rocks. Apparently, they tightened some bolts, but it ain't right.
3 - tranny thing was never mentioned.
4 - road force test - the tires were quiet for couple days - but they started to make whirling noise again. So, i don't know if there is something wrong with the dunlops are something is causing the tires to go unbalanced????

Hey good for you Dunhill.........
Just a word of advice though......lol
I've always found over the years, that, mostly, I get my best results with the professional educated nice guy approach right off the bat...........you'd be amazed at what you can achieve with that attitude!
Thats my first approach always............If they **** me off or don't listen, or treat me like I'm stupid...........well, out comes mr NOT so nice, in your face guy, but still professional and educated...........just seriously pissed!!!!

I will go in as the educated nice guy. Hopefully the will listen.

What do you know about loaners? This dealer did not give me a loaner last time, cause i did not purchase my jag from them.

I thought the Jag manual said, that Jag dealer will provide you a loaner no matter what.

May be different over there, I'm not sure!
I had mine in at the dealers around 7-8 weeks ago o/nite and was given an X 2.0d more or less brand new, only had 3000 miles on it.
The only thing though..........I had to pay £17 to cover insurance costs for the day and sorta admin charge too I guess.
I'd certainly ask the question and force the issue if I were you. About the " not giving you a loaner cos you didn't buy the car from them"............Personally - I'd say....Bullshit!!!
Do you have another dealer nearby? If so, ask them how much they want your business, and what are they prepared to do for you.
Always remember...........You are the customer and the customer is King!

Go get em.........

I agree with Jim and I am pretty sure that it does state somewhere about giving you a rental. It doesn't matter where you bought the car at as long as you have a jag and still have the jag factory warranty and they are a jag dealer! What the heck is the difference. Otherwise why would they need any other jag dealer anywhere in the world if they all don't work on jags and fix the car. The dealer is a jag dealer that is all that matters not that you didn't buy it from them!!!?

Jim, i was reading the manual few minutes ago. I swear somewhere on there it stated that dealer needs to provide a loaner. I can't find the exact page, but once i do i will call the dealer. I need to take the car back for the tire noise again.
