The noise I speak of isn't annoying or anything I believe it has to do with the awd as racer has stated with noise coming from the tranny. Thats just my guess its always done it and others I've driven had it too. The sound I speak of nobody even hears so who knows its probably all in my head! [sm=outcold.gif]

I think racers right.........AWD / tanny seems to be (as far as i can tell) where its comming from. Definitely hear it, but only once in a while and for about 20 - 30 seconds..........enough to make me wonder and annoy me cos i dont know what it is![:@]

+1 on that as they say
I think we do alright all things considered.......Sure we have a few misunderstandings here n there, but, you're always gonna get that. Its how we deal with it and like I said, I think we do ok

Racer,

How much is it to fix a driveshaft once the warranty runs out. Any ideas? Would you say this is the worst mechanical problem the plaque X Types?

I'm gonna take a wild guess that in order to replace the driveshaft you are looking at about 700 bucks....

As for the worst problems, I've seen a guy blow his 3L engine all to bits...(never changed the oil since he owned it and it had like 76K miles on it) piston came right through the oil pan. Cost him 12K to replace engine...can you say ouch....

You have to remember each jag is different..and each one is maintained differently....some people take real good care of it, others just ride them till the wheels fall off than have them fixed and turn around to sell it...

You'll find that if you properly maintain your car, any car, she will take care of you. That's not to say you won't have any issues, if you read the post, each of us had some sort of problem. Some more sever than others....but that's the beauty of owning an automobile......
