Will this shock absorber fit my X type?
Hello guys,
I've received a "present" from my friend who got me some shock absorbers for my Jaguar - they've just been shipped from UK.
They're Anschler brand BUT... unfortunately, the shipping sticker says they're for Jaguar S-type RR, while I own an X-type executive...
Very simple question - will they actually fit my Jaguar X-type 2002 3.0? I know that some parts are interchangeable but I got no idea about these.. Not sure what ID numbers I should give so I just attached a photo.
Would be very grateful for answers, if they won't fit I guess I will have to ship them back to UK....
Thanks in advance,
Atramentous

Hello NBCat,
Thank you so much for your swift response!
So there's no point/possibility to put them in? What are the potential risks? Never had them exchanged before...
I am about to have servicing next week and frankly speaking, my current shock absorbers may be the reason why Jag will fail... and shipping to UK will take weeks
Thank you!

The rear dampers are VIN-specific and may not fit unless the correct ones are obtained.
The valving may also be different due to the weight and spring rate differences between the X400 and X200.
Unless you want to use a sledgehammer to 'modify' the mounting points, the ones you show in the picture in your first post cannot fit your vehicle.

Hello,
once again thank you for all the responses!
I have once again compared the rear dampers I've got, to the ones on the internet and believe it or not but I may have the X-type dampers indeed.
It's just they've been packed in a completely different box! They're designed in a completely different manner if you compare them to the S type dampers visible on the box/gogle search...
Moreover they fit to what is shown on the picture posted above by rapala.
Thank you for all the advices and sorry for this mess
