LOL, sorry I was pretty tired last night when I posted the question. The type car car would help eh? I have a 2002 X-Type. By the way, I found today that you can polish the old chrome using rubbing compound and drill with a polishing disk. I will touch it up with some polishing compound but my chrome used to look pretty ratty and now it SHINES.

Welcome to the forum jaxam1,
I think you may be referring to the Quarter Glass Finisher (item 19)?

If so, it's available separately but will be a dealer only part unless you go for a used item.
Follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information. Guys there will know more about sources and fitting.
When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST section and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Regarding the cleaning. Yes, I recommend/use a rubbing compound, then I "seal" the chrome with a paste wax. Then I use my polishing disk/ball on the area and, yes, it shines just like a mirror. Good luck and welcome to the Forum. Please post some pictures of your vehicle when you are able. Bill in Ohio.

FYI - I was able to get the part for 41.75L at XJK Independent Jaguar Specialists, Jaguar Parts and Servicing in Staffordshire They seem to have everything and aren't super expensive. Thanks for your help. Here's a pic of my car before I bought it and spiffed it up and after I started working on it.
