Default Worth $4K?

I see this posting on Craigslist for an 05 sports model black X-type.
180K miles, ouch!
Anyone think it is worth $4K?
What would you pay?

https://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d...008344609.html

It has DSC, but no seat heaters. But being an 05 no viscous coupler transfer case.

Tijoe, even giving the car the best of everything and saying that it was pretty much in "like new" condition, that would only get the price up to $3400. So, their price is way too high. I would tell you to do some more looking and I am sure you can find what you are after for about $2000.

+1 on the above. Totally agree with Thermo's assessment.

I also think too much cash for a 180 k car. Also it seems this car has been in colder climate which my have rust problems with the fasteners should you find yourself wrenching.

I never stated I want the car. I was shocked at the price, and before I inform the seller that his price is way too high, I asked for the VIN and what work had been done to the car. (Looks like a real sports model, but as I have recently been through with other cars being a VIN 51 model.).

I wouldn't purchase an X-type for other than a parts car with such high mileage, unless a lot of work had been done. Things like a rebuilt or new engine, trans, transfer case, suspension redo. Little to no rust... List goes on and on .
