x-type 2005 diesel. Boot lid won't open
Hi Guys
A lad on a push bike ran into the back of my parked x-type in driving rain when he had his head down.
He left a dint in the right back-side of the lid. When I came to open the boot, a few days later, it wouldn't open by fob or by button.
It could be coincidence but the button does nothing and the fob just flashes the lights with no mechanical sound and the boot stays firmly shut.
Everything else in the car works fine.
How can I get into the boot? I hope someone knows.
Cheers

OMG - That's unbelievable. I expected something like "Remove the number plate and use your key in the lock" haha.
However, many thanks for the info, I shall have a go at this when I have sourced a long screwdriver and have a bit of time to spare.
I'm very glad nobody is in there.
Thanks again HexType and also astromorg for the preventative info for the future.
