Question X Type Audio Connectivity

I have a 2009 X Type with the Premium Audio system and would like to play my I pod through it. Unlike my previous car (a 54 MINI) my Jag refuses to find a 'radio station' to play it . A very helpful bloke on HMV said he was sure that there would be an 'input' for playing it-I have looked everywhere but can't find it.
Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Roberthttps://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_werd.gif

Robert, like Cambo said, first off, your car needs to have the audio connectivity module installed. From there, you would use the AUX button to play the I-pod.

I could swear that, when I was researching about how to add the Audio Connectivity Module (ACM) into my car, that I read that the late-model X-Types came standard with the ACM already installed as a factory option.

Robert, get a look at the first picture on this page, and see if you have anything like that in your center console:

Jaguar Audio Connectivity Module (ACM) Installation and Tips

If not, you might as well read that page. And maybe these two, too:

Adding Accessories (aux in, iPod/iPhone, Bluetooth) to the Jaguar X-Type, S-Type and 2004-2009 XJ

Adding a Motorola T605 Bluetooth Adapter

The speaker wiring is integral to the cabin wiring harness, so it's not possible to swap the wiring. You need to make a "retrofit harness" as explained in the thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ade-faq-64614/

The subs from an 04 car should drop straight into an 03.
If you're going to all this effort i'd suggest going for aftermarket speakers, but if you want to keep costs down then the speakers will be a straight swap.

Hopefully your 03 is actually an 04 model year with the tweeters already in the front doors.

It's all explained in that thread, have a read if you haven't already.
