People can correct me if I am wrong but I read somewhere that you have to be very careful with the one over the passenger airbag. Airbags are quite sensitive.

The wood however dated you may think it is, is part of the Jags identity. To say its disgusting is a bit harsh. Not to your taste would have been more polite.
Mine isn't one of those kits that you lay on top of it though, I actually removed each wood piece individually and had them refinished. I prefer things to look OEM, those stick-on dash kits are tacky IMO

I have the OEM carbon-fiber interior, it the sprts interior package that you can get with the seats that have the Alcantara inserts in them. . I think it is pretty sharp, adds a sporty feel to it. I am not a fan of the lighter woods with a black interior that i have seen around.

I bought my car as a "Sport" model and I'm not really liking the Carbon fiber dash/trim in my black leather interior. Would have much preferred the anthracite (dark grey) wood. I haven't been able to find any used parts online. Also are there different steering wheels? (I have a black leather steering wheel which is fine, but would prefer the dark grey wood trim over leather... maybe I'm the only one.

Default wood dash

I am a huge fan of the classic wooden dash that my x type has. What I dislike is the color stain of the birdseye maple that it has. I have upgraded my wheel to the 2005 style and it has the darker more rich color wood grain that gives it a more classic look I believe. Now I am looking to find the rest of the dash to match. If anyone knows of any junk or salvage yards that may have what I am looking for or if anyone knows where I can find it please let me know.

Thanks,

The Dr.

Most of the Dollar Value stores have a nice selection of shelf liner paper. It's sticky on one side, and easy to trim.

Maybe you'll find something there to suit your taste.

I think if you do not like or can't at least appreciate the x-type's interior design and lineage, then you probably purchased the wrong vehicle. That being said I've seen multiple interior variations on this site. In my opinion the "wood grain kits" are tacky as you can plainly see they rest on top of the original wood. However I think the carbon fiber and piano finished interiors looks great as they are on colors that suit them. Black, silver ext.with black interiors. All about the color combo. Frankly if your interior is not black I would not modify anything with the exception of some LED lighting or custom work. Unfortunately even a dual din aftermarket stereo/nav unit looks out of place. I have the white on Ivory with the maple and no door trim . Only thing I would ever do is a suede headliner to match the maple color and maybe a dash of suede on the door.

In final analysis of this thread, there is simply no accounting - for taste.

Default Jag without wood?

Just cover it up with duct tape. It would look as good as anything else used in place of wood on a Jaguar.

Lightbulb There are aesthetic mods, but also some hardware ones

I've been looking for a short amount of time & Carid has the aesthetic option: https://www.carid.com/2006-jaguar-x-...er=1&sub-model[ourBodyTypeName][]=Sedan

There is a satnav mod that you can buy off Ebay, finding someone to fit it would cost extra unless you find a company that sells and fits it.

Here's a DIY on how to fit the Sat Nav yourself. As the guide says, do this at your own risk. https://www.xtype.uk/projects/3/retr...chscreensatnav

Atm all I've been able to find about a service that sells and fits a bigger screen is Halfords. Relatively cheap unless you want the bigger screen: https://www.halfords.com/technology/...to-342958.html
