I,m having problems getting hot air to blow onto the windscreen on my x type. I can get some air out on demist setting enough to clear the screen but have to drive around on demist all time so can't get hot air to other vents. Just pressing the button to send air to screen/feet I get nothing. Using AC set to auto doesn't mist up to bad but still a bit. This is more annoying than anything else but I would like to fix it if possible because it is annoying me.
Have changed pollen filter which was bunged up with lots of crud. AC/heating is of push button variety not any other form of climate control that may of been fitted to other models.
I am assuming that something is stuck or a motor is not working, have tried some sort of reset procedure shown on forums involving full heat, full cold, blow air here, there etc and not worked.

I need to know what to look at, where it is and if I can get to it without to much hassle.

Someone must have the answer.

 

Actuators a.k.a. Stepper motors or the "rods". Do a search here, lots of info including a seldom successful "stepper motor reset".

Thanks. I see what is required for a fix and think I will put up with the problem. A short blast of the demist button always clears the screen.
