X Type Hand Brake
I have a problem that the hand brake lever ride too high and does not stop the vehicle from rolling on steep inclines.
We have replace the pads but no change.
it's a mechanical system (no electronics)
Would like to know a solution if possible.
We already checked the rear calipers and the piston is twisted out to just lightly touch the discs upon reassembly.
The calipers work smoothly and the pistons are clean.
Is there a way to check the hand brake mechanics in the calliper?
Please note that there's a lot of slack in the single cable going to the hand lever in the cockpit.
How could this slack be eliminated

Ely Grus, the best advice that I can tell you is to first get the rear of the car in the air and pull both rear tires. Then, engage the e-brake. You should see the levers come a little forward and then stop. You can then attempt to move the tire by hand and see if the brake is engaging. If you are seeing both levers move the same amount (just a little bit), then your problem is a cable that has stretched over time and you need a new cable. If one lever goes way forward and the other barely moves, then one that moved has a bad caliper and it needs replaced or repaired. The other check you can do if you don't feel like pulling the tires is to engage the e-brake with the car jacked up some. You want to look at the bar that splits the e-brake cable from 1 cable to two. If the bar is straight across the car, then you have a cable problem. If you pull the lever and the bar moves to an angle, the side that is pointing towards the front tire is your problem side. Need to look at the caliper and figure out the issue.
