X-Type Naviagation

X-Type Naviagation
Hi,
Can anyone please help?
I have an 2006 X-Type 2.5 AWD. It is a Japan import into New Zealand.
What do I have to do to get the NAV system running correctly. I am told that it is more than just throwing in the New Zealand Map disc.
The local Jag agents have said that the entire car is coded just for the Japan market. Would Jaguar really do that?
Getting the radio to expand the FM band would also be great.
Appreciate any help.
Paora.

Hi....
I've got a 2010 X-type from japan, but, it's got the New Zealand maps, looks like it's just a dvd that goes into the Nav Drive in the boot.
I'm the second NZ owner so I'm not sure if he had replaced the head unit to get it to work. I'm lucky I live in Hastings and we have Beacham Jaguar.
I've always used them for my parts and repairs, cheaper then the Dealer. Maybe if you send me a DVD disc I can copy the mays to it and it may work.

My X type is the same year as yours and has sat nav. The handbook says;
Market
During initial factory installation this is used to set the radio to one of the following regions: Europe, Australia or Japan. Regional settings determine the correct frequency increments required for seeking stations, automatic tuning etc. Note; Regions are preset at the factory. Should you require a regional change, consult your Jaguar Dealer/Authorised repairer.
If they still can't help, it shouldn't be too difficult or expensive to just change the radio for a used one to UK/NZ/Aus standard. Get the 4 digit security code if applicable.
Message Centre language can be changed by pressing the Miles/Kilometre button while turning on the ignition. Each press of the M/K button thereafter will cycle through the available languages. When set, turn off ignition to fix language.
Sat nav should just require a change of CD. That works when touring in different countries which is all you're actually asking it to do
